I recently had a chance to photograph the young girls of the Bling dance group. It was a lot of fun. As you can see the girls are super cute.
It was an early evening shoot. I used the setting sun behind them for a strong rim light. A touch (usually about -2 1/3 stops) of on camera fill flash helped lift the shadows. For most shots I kept my shutter speed right near my max sync speed, although passing into high speed sync was not a problem as the flash was only spitting out small bursts of fill at a relatively close distance. The aperture was kept wide to create a bit of separation between the subject and background.
