Birds of Alaska

Last week I finally got to see bald eagles in the wild.  I really, really love this set of images; these birds are beautiful.  I learned that they don't get the white head for a few years after birth, so the "brown" eagles you see below are just young bald eagles.  And for the record, the closeup of the eagles head was of a captive bird whose wing had been damaged.  Made for an easy eagle portrait!
